How to begin, well let' start at the beginning of the year. I had no real opinion of Trump when he was voted into office. I din't vote him, I didn't vote for Hillary either for that matter. I wanted to wait and see what the actions of this new office would be before I started with my opinions about it. I was hoping for some new jobs in the renewable energy industry. I was thinking let's keep on track with going clean and stepping away from fossil fuels.
We certainly don't need it anymore. Clean renewable energy is becoming more affordable and new technologies are making it easier to go "Green". 10 years ago re-newables were still very expensive and would have been more difficult to integrate into our society than they are now. There are wind turbines that are lighter, easier to maintain and visually pleasing to the eye now a days. The solar industry has made huge strides in developing technologies that work better than they did before. Going solar is getting thriftier and integration is becoming an easy task.
Then this new administration started hitting below the belt! Oh man, a new EPA head is so out of touch with reality it's insane. I want my tax dollars spent on bettering the way corporations do business. I like helping to protect what little we have left to work with in the way of clean air, water and cleaning up the oceans. A man that has sued the EPA many times because he doesn't care about what he ruins, is NOT the man for the job of heading up the Environmental Protection Agency!
That takes insanity to a whole new level and the term conflict of interest takes the cake here! It's there in Spades. I could go on for days, but I won't.
I have spent my whole life fighting for clean air, soil and water. I believe our purpose on Earth is to be a steward of the land, not a destructive force. I think the idea of change in such a big way, is so hard for many people to wrap their mind around that they get overwhelmed and feel helpless. Eventually just brushing it off so they can get on with their days. Complacency is the monster we need to get a hold of and realize their is no future without people taking care of the land, water, sky and sea.
One person alone cannot change our fate, but many people working in conjunction with each other can. You don't have to be a jet setter or scientist to make a difference. It's the small everyday things people do to help each other that makes all the difference in the world. It's a slow process of developing and implementing changes for the better, not for the worse. It does not happen all at once but over time.
Here are a few examples of things you can do locally to help yourselves and your community:
Yes, I've been robbed(my house twice), car jacked at gun point, used by many and assaulted. But I won't let those few people stop me from trying to help and you shouldn't either. Have a blessed day and stay safe out there.
Sincerely,
Amy Pearl

Here are a few examples of things you can do locally to help yourselves and your community:
- Start small, see trash on the ground? Pick it up as your walking to your destination and throw it away.
- See someone struggling? Help them. For example; someone is trying to carry a box to their car and you know it would be no problem for you. Help them out.
- Read something in your local paper that gives you the chills? Make a phone call or e-mail.
- Watch out for the little ones and help keep them safe.
- Go to the park or beach? Clean up your mess and set a good example for your kids.
Yes, I've been robbed(my house twice), car jacked at gun point, used by many and assaulted. But I won't let those few people stop me from trying to help and you shouldn't either. Have a blessed day and stay safe out there.
Sincerely,
